Roanoke Dance For Fun

This group is for any social dancer in the Roanoke Valley area who is looking to find a place to dance. No dance experience or partner required! Dancing is all around us here, and we try to capture and list as much as we can.

Some kind of dancing is happening every day, so join in on the fun, learn a new hobby, and meet new friends! This group is perfect for new and experienced social dancers; for couples as well as people who are "partnerless" - those who are single or those whose partners or spouses do not wish to dance.

This group was started by some amateur social dancers who were looking for places to dance. There are plenty of dance opportunities in and around the Roanoke Valley, but word of mouth was the most prevalent way of communicating them and we were missing dance opportunities simply because we didn't know about them. So we created this group to better communicate the various dance options and connect with other dancers in the region. Roanoke Dance For Fun does not actually organize any dances, we simply list known dances for information purposes only*.

• Be advised that sometimes dance organizers may cancel or change a dance and not notify us at Roanoke Dance For Fun.

The purpose of this group is to share all known social dance opportunities and group classes with people in and around the Roanoke Valley. The organizers of this group will monitor known sources for dance opportunities and post the various dances here. If you are a dance organizer, please post your dances or let us know and we'll post them for you. If you know about a dance or a group lesson and it's not posted here, please let us know about them. Any social dance style is welcome.

This group is not intended to be a dating service. If your sole purpose for joining this group is to find a date, please use other means to do so. This is a light-hearted and friendly group of people looking for dance opportunities and having a good time.

There are no membership dues or attendance requirements, although we do welcome donations in any amount (even $1!) to help cover the costs that Meetup.com charges us to maintain this group. You may donate online if giving $10 or more--or if giving a smaller amount you can give us a check when you see us on the dance floor or email us for our mailing address. We cover all the costs to run this group out of our own pockets and we truly appreciate donations of any amount!
