Details
Robotics@Ireland invites everyone interested in robotics and artificial intelligence to attend a free online robotics webinar. On September 3rd at 10 AM (IST) we will be hosting Dr. Ravi Prakash Joshi to present his seminar titled "AI-powered Robotics: From Research to Betterment of Humanity"
Dr. Ravi Prakash Joshi is a senior robotics engineer in TechMagic (Nagoya, Japan), where he is inventing robotic systems for sustainable food industries. He received Ph.D. and M.E. degrees from Kyushu Institute of Technology (Fukuoka, Japan) in 2020 and 2017, respectively. During his Ph.D., he developed robotic clothing assistance, a robotic system to assist the elderly in getting them dressed up. He received B. Tech degree from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (Jabalpur, India) in 2012. Thereafter, he worked in Altair Engineering (Bangalore, India). Later, he worked as a senior research fellow at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (New Delhi, India) until 2015. He has received several awards, such as the Excellent Paper Award in ISIPS 2016 by Waseda University (Japan), the first prize in HEBI Robotics Hackathon 2017 by HEBI Robotics (USA), the Best Paper - Finalists award at HSI 2020 (Japan), Advanced Robotics Excellent Paper Award 2020 by the Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ). His research interests are assistive robotics, human-robot interaction, and machine learning.
