Please join Robotics x Tokyo for another wonderful evening of socializing and networking, including a special panel on Robotics x Construction, featuring professionals in both disciplines! We will start out with light welcome networking while we set up from 6:30pm, followed by the panel 7-8pm, and more networking until the event closes at 9pm.
The panel will start with a general overview of traditional, manual construction methods and highlight tasks which are ripe for automation. Then, we will discuss a bit about logistical, structural, and even cultural barriers to the adoption of automation in construction, followed by concrete (get it?) examples of where automation is already being applied. Topics to be explored include:
- the balance between manual labor and technological assistance
- the use of digitalization (blueprints, CAD, etc.), and
- how construction has proven to be a prime area to apply robotics' traditional mantra of eliminating 'Dull, Dirty, Dangerous' tasks
