Meet the speakers:

Dominika Berezyna & Agata Duży

Dominika is the Product Owner with a strong desire to make an impact on the pharmaceutical world and with IT experience of over 6 years. She loves to incorporate UX and product management tools into her daily tasks. At Roche, she analyzes and supports the design process of mobile applications. These handhelds are participating in establishing digital biomarkers and endpoints in clinical trials. She feels satisfied that in her work she can help in finding medicines for currently incurable diseases.

Agata is the Lead Business Analyst in the Digital Biomarkers Mobile Team. Her current goal is to standardize and optimize her team's work. She is primarily interested in converting business needs to tech solutions following the motto: "In the IT world, the users' needs should stand first". She has more than 7 years of professional experience in the business. She held different roles in her career as a business analyst, UI designer, and software implementation specialist, all of these roles were concentrated around the end-users.

During this presentation, you will not only learn how mobile applications support clinical trials but also what the process of building these applications looks like (from the initial phase to requirements gathering and UX designs, ending in app deployment).

Monika Dyrda
Monika is the Software Developer, Data Engineer, and Cloud Architect. She has 15 years of IT experience. Her specialty is data processing platforms. She likes programming in Python, solving database performance issues, and designing cloud solutions. She is an Azure Certified AI Engineer, Data Engineer, and Data Scientist. The business aspects of her job and her ability to work on breakthrough projects are her biggest motivation. She learns neurobiology. She spends her free time with her family on playgrounds all over the world, swimming, scuba diving, and cooking Asian-inspired dishes.

During her presentation, she will give the answer to questions such as: How do you build a cloud platform that can incorporate petabytes of data? How do you design its architecture and use DevOps? She will tell a story of digital biomarkers - data, that lets us monitor patients with neurodegenerative diseases and support scientists in verifying hypotheses and clinical trials. Also, she will show how Kubernetes, Azure Machine Learning, and Infrastructure as Code come together in a solution that supports MLOps and deals with processing large amounts of data.

Michał Jabłoński
Michał joined Roche over five years ago as a Solution Architect focusing on data integration and cloud solutions. He started his professional career over 19 years ago as a C++ developer, then moved through different developer and system analyst roles, finally transferring to architecture positions as a system and solution architect. Currently, he is a technical product owner responsible for a 15-person development team in one of the biggest data platforms in Roche. He is also the Snowflake SME and AWS cloud expert, who is sharing awareness and promoting those technologies in Roche.

During his speech, he will talk about Roche's journey from the on-premises to Snowflake! Moving to the cloud is not an easy and quick process, especially if you want to migrate a big data platform to a highly regulated environment. In his presentation, he will tell you how we approached such a big migration, what were the challenges, and how they coped with data migration, all based on actual events that happened to him and his team!

This event is FREE to attend but limited, so book your entry pass now.

We are looking forward to seeing you there! :)
