A very easy late fall backpacking overnight trip. Perfect for a new backpacker or a seasoned veteran who wants to extend their backpacking to the shoulder season. Th last two years we went to the same location in January/February and it was very cold with lots of snow. This year we are going before the winter hits. This way we can use the trail along the gorge when it isn't icy and dangerous.

It is only about 3 miles to the lean-to, so not a long hike, which is good because we will likely need to carry our heavy and warm gear.

If you would like to join in this mini adventure please sign up for the waiting list and at least one of the planning meetups. I will take you off the waiting list after you attend a planning meeting and commit to the trip. (If you can't attend a planning meeting, but have been on previous trips with us, you can also signup please message me directly too, thanks)

When it gets close to the weekend of the trip, we will arrange via messages where/when to meet on the morning to car pool and ensure there are cars at each end if a linear route is chosen.

I hope you can join us on this fun and easy overnight.
