Rochester Lilac Festival

UPDATE:
We will meet at the corner of Highland Drive and South Goodman at 11 am on Friday. If you are not able to attend please remove your name from the list so we are not waiting for you. There are 19 of us signed up, we all walk at different paces, so I am sure we will have multiple groups walking. Parking: I have been trying to get a read on what is available, etc. I believe because we are going early we may be able to park on some of the side streets. There is Lilac Drive that runs through Elmwood Manor apartments, off Highland, just a block from South Goodman. I am open to ideas for lunch. In the area there is Elmwood Inn (they call it upscale bar food) or the Distillery- both on Mt. Hope. Since we are a large group I would like to let them know ahead of time we will be coming. Enjoy one of the many traditions of Rochester at the Annual Lilac festival. We will meet and walk through the gardens then find a place for lunch, either at the festival or find a place to sit down together. We will make that decision closer to the event. this event will be to walk the the gardens and the festival area (area with vendors, food trucks, music, etc.) if people want to. There are no bands playing during the time we will be there.

Some basic rules from the Lilac Festival page:
Under no circumstances will ANY BACKPACKS, DUFFEL BAGS, OR DRAWSTRING BAGS be allowed.
Bags that are accepted:

• Fannypack/Belt bags

• Photography bags (subject to search)

• Clear bags

• Small purses (under 6 H x 8 W)

• Diaper Bags

• Medical Bags

• WATER: With the exception of one sealed bottle of water, visitors may not bring food or beverages into the festival grounds. Patrons are allowed to bring an empty water bottle onto the festival site, to fill from one of our free water hydration station.

As more information comes out regarding parking I will update this event with information. Most lots right now are $7 before 2:30pm. There is mention of shuttles, but I did not see specific information on these yet. If you are not a walker and do not want to walk the gardens, but want to enjoy the park, no worries. You can either bring a chair or maybe find a bench where you can be comfortable.
