Hadestown: the Musical at Tinseltown

Hadestown is a folk-opera musical by Anaïs Mitchell that intertwines the Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice with Hades and Persephone, set in a post-apocalyptic, Depression-era America. Known for its jazz and folk-inspired score, it follows two love stories as it journeys to the underworld, exploring themes of nature vs. industry, faith vs. doubt, and love vs. fear. The show evolved from a community theater project into a Broadway hit, winning multiple Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
