Let's Try out a Hip New Ramen and Craft Beverage Bar

A prolific restaurateur has opened his fourth JBC Rice Noodles & Ramen restaurant in the Village of Pittsford, and the new location makes significant tweaks to the original concept.
Mark Teng, a native of China, opened his first JBC Rice Noodles & Ramen as a fast-casual and takeout eatery in the Genesee Valley Regional Market in Henrietta in late 2023. Outlets that followed in Gates and Buffalo have had a similar format. But the Pittsford restaurant is a full-service restaurant complete with its own craft cocktail bar and outdoor patio.

Like the first three restaurants, the menu offers large bowls of authentic soups, loaded with rice noodles as well as a choice of protein and various garnishes. You may choose from five broths ranging from mild to spicy. The spiciest is Mala Spicy Soup, a Sichuan dish with a heat that builds by the mouthful.
The menu also includes a variety of appetizers and "chef's special" dishes, which include popular Chinese-American preparations like sesame chicken, General Tso's chicken, orange chicken, lo mein and more.
The bar serves craft cocktails given an Asian twist; think yuzu margarita, a Beijing mule that incorporates lychee and a house martini made with Japanese Roku gin and yuzu bitters. It also offers wines and sakes by the glass, beers, ciders and seltzers. Two sakes are offered by the bottle.

Nonalcoholic options include milk teas and fruit teas that may be topped with trendy popping pearls or sweet jelly boba.
The look inviting and modern, with neutral hues accented by bright orange chairs. Its outdoor patio, which has six tables of four, has a semi-private feel thanks to strategic fencing and a mature tree.

JBC Rice Noodles & Ramen is at 14 S. Main St. in Pittsford, next to the Yotality shop. It is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday. Call (585) 203-1220.
