2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Lead & Top Rope @ FA Avondale + Pizza Celebration!

2-Year Anniversary Climb + Pizza Celebration!

We’re celebrating 2 incredible years of the Rock Climbing at First Ascent Meetup Group! To mark the occasion, we’re meeting up early at First Ascent Avondale for some rope climbing—followed by pizza after at Pizza Lobo in Logan Square to celebrate. If you can only attend one or the other, please feel free to drop by! Anyone is welcome to attend, whether you’re a regular or it’s your first time!

We’ll be doing a mix of lead and top rope climbing, depending on your certifications. If you’re planning to lead climb, please make sure both you and your partner are lead certified. If you’re new to the group, feel free to list your belay certifications in the event comments so we can coordinate climbing partners ahead of time.

Bonus: The gym still has the comp routes up from the Hell or High Point Rope Climbing Competition—perfect for those who want to test their skills on some technical routes!

Meet-up time: We’ll gather by the orange chairs near the front desk at 6:30pm—but feel free to arrive earlier to get a head start.

After climbing: Join us for pizza and good vibes at Pizza Lobo in Logan Square. We will head out around 8:45pm. We'll have a larger table for attendees. It’s a casual celebration and we can order full pizzas and/or pizza by the slice based on ehat everyone is feeling!

Quick notes:

• We’re not affiliated with the gym. You’ll need to pay for a day pass or use your membership, and bring your own gear (climbing shoes and a harness).
• If it’s your first time at FA, come a bit early—they’ll walk you through a quick safety orientation.
• Be kind and inclusive. We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment or bad vibes.
• Safety first—climbing is awesome when done responsibly.
