Eungbongsan Wall Because Gym Is Gosh Darn Expensive and Mountain is Cold as Heck

Details

Ugg~ it's too cold and I'm too lazy to go trad climbing.

I guess we can go to a local crag.... Hmm let me think about that for next trip. Real rock hurts a lot more than plastic ones, but it's more fun. Maybe next year when weather is better.

This will be smaller group than the last week (phew~), so we will have more time to climb and practice and do stuff....

This place has separate bouldering wall and is free. The "approach" is slightly far compared to Ttukseom, but it ain't bad.

BTW, this place has no rental, so bring your own shoes and harness. If you need to borrow my harness, holla at me. No, seriously if you don't indicate that you need to borrow mine, then I'm going to assume everyone has one.

We will meet at Eungbong Station Exit 1 and walk up to the climbing wall together.

When: Sunday 1:00PM

Where: Eungbong Station Exit 1 or 37.548562, 127.030634 (location of the wall)

Must Bring: climbing shoes, harness, warm outer layer (I can't stress this enough.)

Optional: snack, water, belay device, instant hot pocket, and some cash.

**NOTE: Climbing posses risks of personal injury and/or even death if not done properly and securely. Done properly it can be source of extreme fun and personal satisfaction

As much as we will try to provide the safest of environments, you will need to put consciousness on you part-respect the rules and safety guidelines. Like driving, "Don't drink and climb."

Liability limitations -

While RCIK is very considerate of the needs of its members, we cannot be held responsible for a hikers possessions, health, and/or safety.

*The new "no show" policy:

There has been an issue with members RSVPing and not showing up for events. If you RSVP as going and change your mind, we kindly ask that you change your RSVP to a "no" at your earliest possible. NO SHOWS will result in a ban from the group. We hope that you understand and thank you for your cooperation.

Hope to see ya there!

[rant] I just realized that questions you all had to answer when you joined RCIK are pretty fcking useless. Who the hell cares how long you've climbed? Climbing encompasses so many disciplines (top roping, sport climbing, trad climbing, bouldering, speed climbing, ridge scrambling, via ferrata, aid climbing, big wall climbing, alpine climbing, mountaineering, ice climbing, etc.) that it's fcking useless to ask, "how long have you been climbing" without asking what type of climbing at the same time.

Or why the f*ck ask for climbing level without giving a guideline? What constitutes a beginner or an intermediate? [/rant]

If you climbed with me before, don't worry about these questions

If this is your first time climbing with me, please answer these simple questions on the comment section. Don't worry if the answer(s) is (are) "no".

  1. can you top rope belay?

  2. can you lead belay?

  3. can you lead climb?

  4. what is your belay device?
