Rajgad to Torna Night Trek

Rajgad to Torna is one of the most popular range trek near Pune. A long ridge connects Rajgad, one of the capitals of the Marathas to Torna, the highest fort in the region, which makes up for a fabulous trekking route.

Rajgad is famous for its construction. The fort can be divided into four different parts based on geographical terrain and fortification. These are the three sub-plateaux (Machee) namely Padmavati Machee, Suvela Machee and Sanjevani Machee, and at the centre is the Ballekilla.

Torna is also known as prachandagad (huge fort), due to its massive size. In 1646, when Shivaji was 16, he launched his first military attack by capturing Torna fort, paving the way for the great empire. Many battles have been fought on this fort.

Itinerary
Day 1, 20th April

1500 hrs: Start from Pune station towards base of Rajgad
1730 hrs: Start the hike to Rajgad fort
2030 hrs: Reach Rajgad top, Dinner
2200 hrs: Start for Torna

Day 2, 21st April
0530 hrs: Torna top
0800 hrs: Descend to Velhe village
1130 hrs: Lunch and Departure to Pune

Cost: Rs. 1800
Includes travel by private vehicle, expertise, dinner on day 1 and lunch on day 2
Excludes beverages of any kind, anything which is not mentioned above

Things to carry

• Torch (mandatory)
• At least 3 L water
• Snacks for day 2 morning
• Personal medicine
• Electoral (helps during cramps), energy bars, etc
• Proper Trekking outfit
• Shorts and Sandals not recommended
