The Empress Trees are in full bloom so let's enjoy their fragrant, magnificent blossoms with a walk/hike along the majestic Hudson River. Check out the park's new educational kiosks on the path, about the history and wildlife of the area.

Parking is $8 on weekends now. If you are a senior, weekdays other than holidays are free out of season. Empire Pass holders are free every day.

This will be about a 2 hour walk/hike with breaks, at a steady slow/ moderate pace covering approx. 3-4 miles on paved, crushed gravel and woods trails with two short moderate paved inclines which you can opt out of. Those wanting a shorter walk can turn around at the picnic tables before the first incline.

Recommend hiking shoes or boots, sneakers or supportive walking shoes. WATER IS A MUST, BUG SPRAY AND SUN protection ARE RECOMMENDED and don’t forget those cameras for the many great photo opts!

Bring a chair for the picnic after and we may be able to use a folding table or two in case the park's picnic tables are being used.

MEET US IN FRONT OF THE REST AREA BLDG.

CARPOOLING STRONGLY SUGGESTED.

INCLEMENT WEATHER CANCELS. ALWAYS CHECK THE DAY OF AN EVENT FOR POSSIBLE CHANGES.

Directions from west of Nyack in Rockland: TAKE RT 59 EAST INTO NYACK AND TURN LEFT ON BROADWAY WHICH YOU'LL TAKE TO THE END WHERE THE PARK ENTRANCE IS LOCATED. From the toll booth head down to the lower parking lot.

The park gave me the new address for GPS units but do not solely rely upon that. Please see directions in event details or use the google map pin.
