Untermyer Gardens Easy & Moderate Spring Walk/Hike

Come join us as we return to Untermyers' Persian themed Gardens overlooking the Hudson and once among the most famous gardens in the world! It's a visual feast of elaborate gardens with rare specimens surrounded by majestic Indo-Persian, Greek and Roman styled architecture!

Come to see what's blooming before it gets too hot and before the schools let out! You will be enchanted!

Restrooms available. Parking is free.
Additional metered and unmetered parking along the streets.

We will be walking and hiking on paved and dirt paths, some grass, a steep stairway(optional), some shorter stairs and crushed gravel with some moderate ups and downs approx. 2 hours). This will be at a slow/moderate pace with MANY stops along the way for photos.

Those wanting the moderate walk/ hike and more of a workout can descend the giant stairway to the park entrance below at the Croton Aqueduct where there are ruins that have been beautifully landscaped. You will return the same route to rejoin those doing the easier option or you can take the flatter Croton Aqueduct back to where it reconnects w/ the Temple of Love area where you’d open the gate on your left and head back to restroom building or walk back toward sunken gardens to find the rest of the group.

Hiking shoes or boots are recommended along with hiking poles(if you plan to do the long paved stairway and need the support), WATER(Mandatory), snacks, sun protection, bugspray and cameras of course!

Possible dinner after at the reputable Ardsley Diner just 5 miles North or another venue to be determined if there is interest. Suggestions welcome.
