Back Into the Woods for Two - Three Reservoirs

Lets' return to this pristine secret paradise off of Call Hollow Rd. that lies within, borders Harriman Park and runs by the Long Path. We will pass a scenic old dam and follow along the Chock Horse Creek along a mostly shaded trail to one or two more reservoirs, each with its' own varying terrain and unique beauty.

This will be about a 3 hour moderate hike at a slow/moderate pace with breaks included covering approx. 4-5 miles. We'll start on a short paved, moderate incline and continue onto mostly woods trails along a gentle incline with some rocky, gravel areas and a possible, short stream crossing. The trail levels out in a few spots and it's all downhill on the way back!!

As I still have some limitations, we may do two rather than the three reservoirs. There is also an option to hike to the Big Hill Shelter, for those who are familiar with the trail. Let's head for the woods!

Always good to have an extra pair of socks and lg ziplock bag. Water Proof hiking boots are recommended, as are hiking poles. Don't forget Mandatory WATER, bugspray, sun protection, snacks and cameras of course!

MEETUP BY TRAILHEAD IN BEND OF ROAD BY THE GATE. ADDITIONAL PARKING LOTS past the gate on your left down the road on the right. You can also park alongside the road on either side as long as you are inside the white lines.

DO NOT RELY ON GOOGLE MAP.

No restrooms. Separation breaks as needed.
