Autumn Shore Walk & Picnic! EDGEWATER ENTRANCE ONLY.

Details
Come celebrate the changing of the seasons with an easy walk along our beautiful Hudson River to be followed by another one of our gourmet picnics!
This will be about a 2-3 hour Slow/MODERATE PACED walk including breaks. We will be taking the level, paved and woods white shore trail, with expansive views of the Hudson River and NYC to the historic Bloomers Beach. Shorter, revised or additional walks are possible.
In the 1930s, Ross Dock was set up as the park’s “Camp Colony,” with big tents that families could rent for all or part of the summer. Later, small cabins built by the WPA were even added to the “Camp”! The remains of some of these still exist.
We will be covering approx. 4 miles on paved paths and mostly flat woods trails at a Slow/mod. pace. Optional extra walk under the bridge for those interested. We'll also be stopping by the Memorial bench for our member Jay Glaser to pay tribute.
SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM AND POST WHAT YOU PLAN TO BRING IN THE COMMENT SECTION SO EVERYONE CAN SEE WHAT WE NEED. Bring a PORTABLE GRILL if you are bringing something that needs heating (NO GAS GRILLS) or let me know and I can bring charcoal and lighter fluid.
FREE PARKING ON WEDNESDAYS!
CARPOOLING is suggested but with school back on I don't expect it to be crowded. Good supportive walking or hiking shoes/ boots are recommended.
Bring WATER(WHICH IS MANDATORY to attend), snacks, bugspray, sun protection, kites(for after the hike), bubbles, etc. and coolers, ice packs, etc. with something to share for the picnic after.
PLEASE POST WHAT YOU PLAN TO BRING so we don't end up with just potato salad for dinner! lol ALCOHOL is NOT permitted.
We still need to be careful when handling food we are sharing as there are some things best not shared. :0)
REMEMBER to bring serving utensils for your dishes and to take or give away any leftovers.
SCROLL DOWN TO SEE WHAT EVERYONE IS BRINGING TO SEE WHAT IS NEEDED. There are picnic tables but you are also welcome to bring your own chairs if you like.
Lets' enjoy the longer days while they last and the Full Harvest Moon in the evening!
