Aaron GUIDED Winter Wonderland Walk at Rockland Lake 😉

Come on out and burn some holiday calories while soaking up some sunshine and the beauty of a winter wonderland. If we're lucky we may hear the songs of the ice! There should also be natural ice sculptures around the lake to enjoy. If you have any hand sized rocks for skimming across the lake, bring them and if conditions are right, you can make the ice sing!
Come chase away the winter blues!

This will be about a 1 1/2 hour walk, covering approx. 3 miles at a slow/moderate pace. There will be one short break and possibly others for any migratory duck or rare bird(eagle) sightings.

The path is clear, paved and level. All you need are WEATHER RESISTANT walking, hiking shoes/ boots. Don't forget to bring your binoculars and cameras since there are plenty of photo opts!

Dress in layers as it can get breezy around the lake. Keep to the right, to make way for cyclists, skaters and other pedestrians to pass safely.

Restroom at Building 3 is open along w/ Port o John at Fishing Station and possibly other locales.

PARKING IS FREE.

MEETUP IN PARKING LOT 1 IN FRONT OF THE PARK OFFICE .

If you are driving south on 9W from Haverstraw, etc. you would take the first northern park entrance in Congers which will be on your left. If you are driving from Nyack on 9W heading North, you would take the second northern park entrance in Congers which will than be on your right.
