Welcome to Placer County Group Hiking. Join us in exploring the wonders of the Auburn Recreation Area and lower Sierra Nevada Mt. range. Our hikes take us through incredibly beautiful regional parks, state parks, and open spaces. The group is open to adults who are physically fit, committed, and show up (moderate to strong hikers) who enjoy social hiking experiences, and meeting new people from all over Placer County. Our hikes range from 6 to 12 miles in length (2 to 5 hours) mostly in the confluence area. Moderate, intermediate to advance skill levels are welcome and part of our regular hikes (hikes are identified at specific levels and posted as such (AllTrails app)). This is an adult hiking group (must be 18 and older). You must have a clear self-picture to be a member of the group.
To be clear, we are organizers and hosts, we are not guides, leaders or experts. We are everyday people who like to hike in the wilderness and want to join with like-minded hikers.
Placer County Group Hiking is a non-professional social group. Only you can assess your abilities to attend a hike and are solely responsible for your safety and well-being. Please familiarize yourself with Meetup's "Terms of Service". It is your responsibility to know your ability when signing up for a meet-up.
