    DIY your way into a better yoga practice with yoga teacher Dina Ibrahim. Using retired lead ropes, Dina will teach you how to create your own mat carrying strap that will do double duty as a useful prop for opening shoulders and reaching your feet in stretching and balancing poses. She will then guide you through a vinyasa practice using your strap. Already have a strap? Make it as a gift for your favorite yogi! Supplies are provided by TRC. Bring your own yoga mat. Come play!   • Myofascial Release for Climbers

    Join Jane Thibodeau for a special class on myofascial release to reduce pain, prevent injuries, and improve performance in climbing and other activities. Students will learn about anatomy and self-care techniques using therapeutic massage balls. The therapy balls are both pliable and grippy, allowing them to penetrate and grab different layers of fascia, much like a myofascial massage. Students will experience a deep release in muscle tension and tight fascia, leaving the workshop with increased mobility and improved circulation throughout the body. If you want to get to know your body better and learn how to treat and eliminate pain and tension, this class is for you! *Note: All levels welcome - no experience necessary. All props will be provided, except please bring your own yoga mat. Tight fitting clothing is recommended for use with therapy balls. Students are encouraged to drink extra water before and after the workshop. This will be a great compliment before or after a climb. We will meet in TRC’s large yoga room. In this class we explore basic Acro poses and transitions through the roles of base, flyer, and spotter. Students work in groups of 3-4 and partnerships will be honored but no partner is required. Bring a mat and water and wear close-fitting clothing made for movement. Acro involves lifting, balance, and trust which makes perfect cross-training for climbing. Come play!
