Day of the Dead Meditation and Celebration
Details
Weekly Sunday evening Zen meditation. First bell rings at 7 pm so come a little early and please be in your seat by that time. Join Joyful Mind Zen Community for a special Day of the Dead celebration honoring our loved ones and ancestors. Bring a photo or memento to place on the candlelit altar.
Following one 25-minute silent meditation period, all may offer a poem or prayer, or amusing story, or memory for celebration of the life remembered. Bring a friend. Or just remain in silence as a witness --and perhaps we will do walking meditation outside to close. We will close with refreshments and community sharing. If you wish, please bring a snack or beverage to share please RSVP if you are coming.
It is customary for Day of the Dead to offer sweets. We will have hot tea, cups, and plates.
