What we’re about
We are a small non-denominational and welcoming meditation group, meeting weekly on Mondays since April 2024. Our teacher has practiced Zen in contemplative settings for 20 years. All are welcome. There is no obligation, you may come and go as you can, and this is freely offered to bring more peace and rest to the world. Suitable for beginners.
We start with a brief meditation reading or teacher instruction then then ring a bell for 10 minutes of silent meditation.. We do a 5-minute silent walking meditation, then we sit for another round of 20 minutes of silent meditation, followed by tea and a poem, and brief reflections about the poem before heading home.
The practice is simple--silence, mindfulness, walking, and breathing. This group is led by authorized meditation instructor Martine Palmiter [(joyfulmindzendo.org)](https://www.joyfulmindzendo.org/)
Which is worth more, a crowd of thousands, or your own genuine solitude?

A little while alone in your room~~ will prove more valuable than anything else
that could ever be given to you~~poet Rumi
