Progressive Politics Discussion

We are living through extraordinary political times - times of great risk, but, also, of great opportunity. This period will likely be studied for generations and, possibly, even centuries. Join us for a discussion of today's politics - how we got here, what it means, what the future may hold and how can we influence that future. The discussion is intended to have a strong progressive bias, heavily influenced by Bernie Sanders and will look closely at the corruptive toxic force of money in politics that has subverted our political system resulting in politicians from both parties serving powerful corporate donors and abandoning the people who elected them. As a consequence, a large portion of the American population has been pushed to financial desperation. The current income inequality between those at the top and eveyone else is the worst it has ever been and the American people have never been more deeply in debt. As happened before in the time of the "Gilded Age" "robber barons" (then it was Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, Carnegies, now it is Musk, Besos and Zuckerberg) the dire situation we are currenly in is not sustainable and we may well be entering a time of great political change - and one of great opportunity - an opportunity that we must seize and not waste.
