The MCPS League of Educators for Asian American Progress (LEAAP) will be hosting our annual 2025 Lunar New Year Banquet on Tuesday, February 11th, 5:30-8:00pm (program begins at 6:00pm). Our event will take place at the Hong Kong Pearl Seafood Restaurant at 16515 S Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20877, located in the Walnut Hill Shopping Center.

Please join LEAAP Co-Presidents, Ms. Elaine Chang and Dr. Kristen Wong Callisto, Board of Education President Julie Yang, Superintendent Thomas Taylor, and other Montgomery County district staff as we celebrate the Year of the Snake, including a featured traditional lion dance.

The goal for our banquet is to diversify the K-12 education workforce by providing scholarships to deserving MCPS graduating seniors who plan to pursue a degree in the field of education. The proceeds from ticket sales and your cash contributions support the LEAAP Scholarship, which assists students interested in pursuing education as future teachers and leaders in the workforce.
