RMCC Road Ride: Lyons - Glen Haven - Estes Park - Allenspark Loop

This is a must-do ride on the northern side of our normal RMCC territory!

For this one we'll meet at Lyons High School at 7:45 for an 8:00 departure. We'll start out on some flatter roads in Larimer County and loop around Carter Lake before starting the climb up Big Thompson Canyon. Although a state highway, this road is relatively newly paved and has an excellent shoulder lane.

At Drake we'll cut off to go through Glen Haven and the switchbacks up to Estes Park. From there it's the last significant climb up Wind River Pass on the Peak-to-Peak Highway, through Allenspark, and then the long descent down the freshly-paved St. Vrain Canyon back to Lyons.

Mile 21: Water Spigot across from the Carter Lake Marina
Mile 52: Sinclair in Evergreen (they have a patio in the back)

If needed, there is also a store in Allenspark (have to go through town).

Some people who've ridden with RMCC for a long time say this is their favorite ride. So come join us!
