Bergen Park - Witter Gulch - Idaho Springs - Little Bear

It will be fall soon so let's get a challenging ride up to high elevation while we still can! This ride will meet at the Bergen Park Park-n-Ride at 8:45 for a 9:00 departure.

We'll start out by climbing Stagecoach, Witter Gulch, and then Juniper Pass. We'll drop down through Echo Lake and down to Idaho Springs. After refueling we'll climb back up Little Bear Creek road before descending the lower part of 103 back to Bergen Park.

The total route is 51 miles with 6700 feet of vertical. Not a lot of miles but Witter Gulch and part of Little Bear are very challenging. Little Bear has 6 miles of dirt--it's very rideable on standard 28mm road tires, but 32mm is probably the sweet spot for this ride.
