This road ride is part of the RMCC Challenge Series (https://www.rockymountaincyclingclub.com/rmcc-challenge-series).

One of the most epic rides you can do in this area is to ride from the city up to the summit of Mt. Blue Sky. Join us to tackle the one! We'll meet at the parking lot at the base of Lookout Mountain (our normal Golden start location) at 6:00 for a 6:15 (sharp) departure. We have the early start to hopefully get to the summit before storms develop.

We'll ride up to Bergen Park where we can top off at the convenience store and where we'll meetup with people doing the shorter option from there. There is also the possibility of getting water at the Echol Lake campground.

The total route is 95 miles with over 10K feet of climbing. It's not particularly steep but the whole ride is basically uphill on the way out and downhill on the way back.

As we do get above 14,000 feet on this ride, please use good mountain sense--bring plenty of clothes, food, and hydrate well. If the weather starts looking iffy, head down before it actually gets bad!

Note also that while they did a lot of work around Summit Lake last year, this road is quite rough. Somewhat wider tires at lower pressures does make it more pleasant.

Non-dues-paying members are welcome and invited to join us on any ride! After three rides we do require that you join the club: https://www.rockymountaincyclingclub.com/rmcc-membership-application-form
