Saturday, May 9, 1-2 p.m.

Edgewater Branch Library, 6000 N. Broadway, Chicago, IL

Author Victoria Granacki will share the moving story of her father’s service in the South Pacific during WWII, including serving as General MacArthur’s mapmaker.
The personal account is of an ordinary, working-class, Polish American Chicagoan drafted into the U.S. Army in 1941, and his wartime experiences. The multi-media presentation will include pen-and-ink maps, jungle watercolors, journal sketches, scrapbook photos, and more than 200 letters sent home.
Mementos will be displayed, and copies of the book will be available for sale.

This free program is sponsored by Friends of the Edgewater Library in partnership with the Edgewater Branch Library.
