Shady Cove Walking Event (4-day event with multiple walks and hikes)

This is a 4-day walking event. The registration for the events is from 7AM-9AM Thursday thru Sunday. You may walk these walks anytime during the four days. We will have many people at this event so if you want to walk with someone it should be easy to find people to walk with.
We will also have available a walk in Roseburg and the 11-Year-round walks.
This is the last event of the Rogue Valley Walkers as the RVW volkswalking club is closing at the end of the year.
I hope you can come and do one or more walks during this time. Meet some volkswalkers from Canada and the Willamette Valley. Find out about the AVA which is a National and International Walking Club.

Donations for Guest (Non IVV Credit) is $4.00 to

MISCELLANEOUS: Carry water, pets allowed on
some walks. Dress appropriately for the season and
weather conditions.
CHALLENGES: Will be posted at the Community
Center.

From Oregon I-5 South - Take exit # 43 towards Gold
Hill and Crater Lake. In Gold Hill take Oregon Hwy 234
to Oregon Hwy 62. Left on Oregon Hwy 62 to Shady
Cove. After crossing the bridge turn Left to go to the
Edgewater Inn.
From Oregon I-5 North – Take exit #40 towards Gold
Hill. Left of Oregon Hwy 99. Left onto Second Ave and
turn Right on to Oregon 234. Continue as above.

on the fairly new sidewalks in town. The 5K goes

TRAIL: (2B) Walk on the Rogue River trail from the
Lewis River Trailhead for the 6K route. An alternate 13k
route of the Rogue River trail utilizes the trail starting at
the Northwest corner of Lost Lake, there is a gravel road
for approximately the last 4 miles. * (This has two
different start locations depending on which distance you
do)

LOST CREEK LAKE/JOSEPH STEWART COUNTY

TRAIL: (2B) Walk on paved and natural trails. You will
cross over several small wooded bridges and walk
around part of Lost Creek Lake.
NOTE: There is one steep section going downhill
where walking sticks will be helpful.
CASEY COUNTY PARK (formerly a State Park)

TRAIL: (1B) Walk along the raging Rogue River to a
county operated fish hatchery and up to the William L.
Jess Dam impounding Lost Creek Lake and return.
LOWER TABLE ROCK (NEW WALK)

REGISTER AND DRIVE to the walk start
TRAIL: (3B): Begin with a roughly mile and a half climb
to the top of this volcanic plateau and look down into
Medford and the surrounding area including Mount
McLoughlin.
There is an elevation gain of 820 feet. This is an out
and back walk.
PROSPECT TRAILS (NEW WALK)

TRAIL: (2B) This is a “Progressive Walk”. Park
in the parking lot of the Prospect Historic Hotel.
Walk to Pearsony Falls and return to your
vehicle. Drive approximately 1 mile to the second
parking lot. Here you walk to a “Y” with a choice
to see the Giant Boulder or the Mill Creek & Barr
Creek Falls or both.
UPPER TABLE ROCK

TRAIL: (3B) Begin with a roughly mile climb to
the top of this volcanic plateau and look out and
see the town of Medford, parts of the Rogue
Valley and Siskiyou Mountains to the south.
There is an elevation gain of 780 feet. This is an
out and back walk.
