Hike to Crowley Lake Caverns

We will be hiking to Crowley Lake Caverns off of the Owens Gorge road on some dirt roads and cross country through sagebrush.
When we get to the caverns we will explore them and enjoy lake views and possibly see some wildflowers, We may take the shoreline route back for a loop trip depending on conditions and the groups desires and abilities approximately 2 to 4 miles round trip depending on our route. There is no shade except in the caverns so please bring hats , sunscreen, sturdy hiking boots, water and snacks. We will meet at the skateboard park in Mammoth Lakes off of Meridian blvd at 8:30 am and for those coming from the south at the mailboxes off of US 395 and Sunny Slopes Drive at 9:00 am . carpooling will be available and a sturdy car will be necessary for the dirt road portion of the drive .
