About us
## đŁď¸ Feminism in Action, Not Just in Print.
Letâs read, learn, and connect! Feminism Between The Lines is an intersectional feminist book club based in Rome where we explore iconic and thought-provoking feminist works â from classics to modern voices reshaping the conversation today.
We meet once a month in person to share insights, ask questions, and exchange perspectives in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Between meetups, our website keeps the conversation flowing: whether you missed the gathering or simply prefer to join online, go there to continue our chat about the book of the month, share resources, and post your own reflections to keep ideas moving.
For event organisation and sign-ups, we use MeetUp, which helps us manage attendance and waiting lists efficiently. Bigger decisionsâlike suggesting new titles, voting on future reads, setting meeting dates, and coordinating logisticsâhappen in WhatsApp, where our core group is active.
We also have an Instagram account; check it out!
Our club is international, discussions are in English, and everyone curious about intersectional feminism is welcome. Our feminism is combative, rooted in human rights, inclusive of trans rights, and devoted to dismantling patriarchy and all forms of oppression.
Discuss, disrupt, dismantle. Turn the page, change the world.

âšď¸ Event Sign-Up and Discussion Guidelines :
- To keep conversations meaningful and manageable, each meeting will be limited to 15 participants.
- The official sign-up will happen through MeetUp. However, weâll share the link in our WhatsApp group first so regular members get early access. We want to prioritise our core group while still welcoming new members who bring fresh perspectives.
- If the event is full, you can join the waiting list. You may only attend once a spot becomes available and you are moved onto the attendee list. We still recommend reading the book, as last-minute cancellations often occur.
- âPlease confirm your attendance. Weâll send a confirmation request one week before the meeting. If you do not confirm, your spot will be offered to someone on the waiting list. If you cannot attend, let us know in advance so your spot can go to someone else.
- â ď¸ No-shows or last-minute cancellations without a valid reason will result in a temporary ban from the next meeting(s). Please be fair to othersâsigning up is a commitment, and skipping your spot takes away someone elseâs chance to join.
- Try to finish the book before we meet so everyone can fully join the conversation.
- Submit your questions, insights, or discussion insights in advance to help the host guide the conversation. A shared document will be provided for you to add them.
- Hosts: prepare a script with all the questions or prompts submitted by attendees to keep the conversation flowing. Make sure everyone has the opportunity to speak and that the conversation stays on track.
- Note takers: focus on recording key insights and questions that may need further discussion. After the session, create a brief summary to share on the website for those who couldnât attend or to continue the conversation.
- Speak and listen in equal measure, respect everyone, be mindful of sensitive topics, and avoid judgment.
