Title of Talk: Real Time Analytics with Kafka and Druid (English)

Abstract:
Apache Druid is a high performance, relatively time, distributed OLAP database. I am going to talk about origin story of Druid, and I will show in a live demo why Druid and Kafka are a match like peanut butter and jelly, for real time analytics.

Bio:
Hellmar has worked in the software industry for more than 20 years in various pre- and postsales roles. He has worked with large customers in the finance, telco and retail industries, including a full time position at ING Bank for 3 years. He lives near Munich, Germany, with his wife and four kids. In his free time, he likes to read, and to travel with his family.

Title of Talk:
User-Friendly Kafka Monitoring

Abstract:
Monitorare un sistema che usa Kafka non è per nulla semplice, sia se ci troviamo on-premise sia se lo usiamo in cloud. Ci sono molti componenti da osservare, non solo le metriche del server ma anche le metriche che producono i client, la misura del lag e molte meno note, come ad esempio le quota.

Poter creare degli stack di monitoraggio in poco tempo e completi diventa vitale.
Grazie agli stack creati dai Solutions Architect di Confluent, che vedremo in questo talk, riuscìrete in poco tempo ad usare soluzioni di monitoraggio complete ed estendibili.
Ben sapendo che una volta definito il monitoraggio siamo forse a 1/3 dell'opera :)

Giovanni Marigi lavora come Solutions Architect in Confluent e oltre a sviluppare cose più o meno utili, lavora quotidianamente con i clienti su soluzioni di streaming. E questa cosa lo appassiona da sempre.

Appassionato di sistemi distribuiti e cloud computing Pierpaolo Rametta è un Solutions Architect per Confluent. Si occupa, quindi, di seguire i clienti nel loro “streaming” journey. Tra i suoi hobby rientrano libri/film/serie tv di fantascienza ed è un’aspirante runner.
