📢
We’re excited to announce Global Fabric Day 2026, our second edition of this annual, free, in-person Global Fabric Community conference!
This global conference is coordinated globally and hosted locally across multiple cities around the world during the weekend of Jun 27–28, 2026.
In Romania, Timisoara is the city we're meeting in, with sessions both in person and also online, gathering the local Fabric Community for the first in-person event.
Check out all the participating cities this year: https://globalfabric.community and click on your city's user group link on the map to find the event page where you can register.
A special thank-you to Kim Manis for championing this community initiative and delivering the opening welcome message at our conference.
We’re also deeply grateful to all our community members, organizers, sponsors, and volunteers - this wouldn’t be possible without your passion, support and dedication.

⭐️ ONE TRUTH, MANY EXPERIENCES
The enterprise data story has changed. We moved from a world where SQL developers built reports far away from business users, while Excel power users created their own parallel analytics, to a new environment where Fabric, Power BI, OneLake, semantic models, and Microsoft 365 bring these worlds much closer together.
This session explores what a modern data story looks like in the Fabric era. We will look at the evolution from traditional data warehouses and isolated BI reports to governed, reusable semantic models that serve Power BI, Excel, Teams, Copilot, and other Microsoft 365 experiences.
At the center of this change is the idea of democratizing data: empowering employees with simple, secure, and trusted access to the data they need to make better decisions. But democratization does not mean everyone building their own disconnected version of reality. The real goal is to bring one version of the truth closer to the business user than ever before.
In the modern Microsoft data environment, one version of the truth is no longer hidden deep inside a database, a warehouse, or a report owned by a small BI team. It becomes a governed semantic layer that business users can access through the tools they already use: Power BI, Excel, Teams, and Microsoft 365. This changes the way we build models, define metrics, manage business logic, and deliver insights.
We will discuss how Fabric changes the relationship between data engineering, BI, and business users, and why the true enterprise deliverable is no longer just a dashboard. It is a trusted analytical foundation: shared data, reusable metrics, governed models, security, lineage, and multiple ways for people to explore and act on data.
Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how Fabric and Power BI are reshaping enterprise analytics, how data teams can empower users without losing governance, and what “one version of the truth” really looks like when it is finally close enough for everyday users to consume, trust, and use.

⭐️ FABRICATING FABRIC STUFF FOR HUMAN FABRICATORS: A 365 STORY (Remote Session)
All companies require some level of ETL/ELT (Extract-Transform-Load), Machine Learning or real time data ingestion processes, and over the years a lot of technologies have been used, like SQL Server Integration Services, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks and Azure Synapse Analytics (both including Spark), Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Machine Learning, Azure HDInsight, Event Hubs, IoT Hubs, Kafka, as well as storage such as Data Warehouses and Data Marts, Storage accounts and Data Lakes (and marketing alternative names such as Data Lakehouse, Lake Database, etc.), and many more.
Microsoft Fabric is the (not so) new kid on the block, integrated with your Microsoft 365 experience.
If you haven't used it before, of if you want to know more about it, in this session you'll see mostly demos about its features and how to get started.

⭐️ TRANSLYTICAL TASK FLOWS: UNLEASHING POWER BI'S HIDDEN UX POTENTIAL
What if Power BI reports didn't just show data, but remembered you, guided you, and rewarded your progress?
This session reveals how Translytical Task Flows are revolutionizing user experience design in Power BI, transforming passive reports into intelligent, interactive applications.
During this session, we will see how three fundamental UDF patterns unlock engagement: registration and session persistence, intelligent notification management, and time-based progress scoring.
We will explore how combining these capabilities creates user journeys that boost adoption, reduce context-switching, and transform reluctant users into active participants.

⭐️ TWINS? AGAIN?
Lets talk about the new Microsoft try at digital twins. now in Fabric. This session will try to answer, what is a digital twin, what can be good for, what we have now in Fabric, and how to take full advantage of it. With demos as much as makes sense, and of course, Kinder chocolates.
