Experience this demanding, awe-inspiring guided hike with a certified hiking guide to Monte Velino (2,487 m), the highest peak of the Sirente-Velino range, known for its alpine character, steep ascents, and spectacular summit views stretching from the Gran Sasso to the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Our route follows a variation through Monte Cafornia (2,423 m), offering a rewarding double summit experience with panoramic ridgelines, deep karst valleys, and wild, open landscapes. We start from Massa d’Albe, a village with ancient Roman roots once known as Alba Fucens, and rise rapidly into the raw, majestic heart of the Apennines.
This hike is suited only for well-trained hikers with solid mountain experience and excellent fitness. It involves long stretches of steep uphill terrain, loose rock, exposed sections, and no water sources along the way. Your effort will be rewarded with one of the most unforgettable ridge traverses in central Italy.
