What we’ll do
- Walk 7–8 km across Ventotene following coastal trails, village lanes and historic sites.
- Enjoy sweeping sea views, Mediterranean vegetation and abundant birdlife (important migratory stopover).
- Visit ancient Roman cisterns, fortifications and locations tied to the island’s past as a Bourbon penal colony and its connection to the Ventotene Manifesto / early European integration history.
- Stops for photo breaks, short historical talks and birdwatching.

Meeting point & logistics
- Meet at Ventotene harbor (Porto), by the main pier — 10 minutes before the start time. (Please arrive by local ferry; check timetables in advance.)
- We start promptly to make the most of the day and ferry schedules. If you expect to arrive late, message the organizer.

What to bring
- Comfortable, sturdy walking shoes or hiking shoes
- 1–2 L water and snacks / light lunch
- Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
- Lightweight wind/rain jacket and a small daypack
- Binoculars and camera for birdwatching and views
- ID/passport if arriving by ferry (as required)
- Small cash (some island services may have limited card payments)

Accessibility & safety
- Not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers. Some trail sections are rocky and uneven.
- Good mobility and basic fitness recommended.
- We travel as a group; follow the guide’s instructions. If you have medical needs or mobility concerns, please contact the organizer before RSVP.
