A New Economy: Circular systems, Reciprocity and Zero waste

A fundamental permaculture principle of pooling our skills, materials and labor will be explored at the February meetup. The process is simple and surprisingly rich.

We will begin with the simple exercise of listing what we are offering and what we are seeking.

Zero Waste will be a recurring theme in 2026. The current Circular Economy plan can be found at Sustainable Hudson Valley. A survey allows you to opt-in, defining your place and purpose in the network.

Ulster County is on-track to become one of the nation's waste reduction leaders. This serious issue affects us all economically, physically and socially. Ulster Country Resource Recovery Agency (UCCRA) is inviting comment and participation while the system is still being planned! I joined the Recycling Oversight Committee and I urge you to attend the Zero Waste meetings, held at the UCCRA offices, 999 Flatbush Road, Kingston, NY. Very informal, these are some great people working towards the worthy goal of shrinking our need for a landfill. The next Board meeting will be February 19th at the UCCRA offices.
