What we’re about
Roots and Fire – Men’s Group
We meet every other week (for now) to explore our lives—Socially, Physically, Intellectually, Emotionally, and Spiritually (if that applies to you). We'll begin online, but I’m working on a space near 22nd and Florida NW for in-person gatherings soon. My preference is to meet face-to-face and help foster real connection.
Each gathering includes time to connect with ourselves and each other. We set personal goals, make short- and long-term commitments, and articulate what we’re here to grow or transform. We “do work”—honestly exploring the places where we feel called to grow or shift.
It’s a safe space. Everyone makes a commitment to protect the time and energy we invest. This is not therapy. It’s about building deeper relationships with ourselves and with other men—walking together through the stuff that matters.
Here’s a bit about me:
My name is Kevin. I grew up on a ranch in Montana with beauty and hardship in equal measure—clear mountain views, hard work, and a father carrying heavy generational burdens. I learned to define myself by what I achieved—sports, academics—but inside I carried anxiety, depression, and questions about identity and connection.
Over the years, I’ve lived in five states, traveled internationally, gotten married and divorced, then married again. I’ve been homeless, a vegan, a social worker, and worked in the mining industry. I’ve been deeply spiritual and deeply agnostic. I’ve climbed mountains and moved across the country. Through it all, something still felt incomplete. I longed for more real transformation. I wanted to belong, to give, and to be part of a community grounded in growth and connection.
Three years ago, as COVID was waning, I started sitting with a group of men every week. I wanted to understand how discomfort could be meaningful, how shame and anxiety could be transformed, and how to create lasting change. I found a group of men willing to share deeply, challenge each other with integrity, and grow together. That experience changed my life. I recalibrated how I relate to men, to my work, to myself—and I got married again, this time to an incredible partner.
Now, I want to offer that same kind of space to others.
If something in this speaks to you, I invite you to join Roots and Fire. I'd love to sit with you, hear your story, and walk together as we grow.
Connection is Medicine.
