RoPython Bucharest Meetup

Details
We will have our next Meetup, again in the center at the charming COWORK CAFE (http://theatelier.ro/). We already have an awesome line-up for this time.
Schedule
✍ 19:00 - 19:15 - Meet & Greet
🎙️ 19:15 - Python at Code for Romania: 73% Scrapy, 52% Django, 24% CKAN // by Victor Cleja
Code for Romania is a volunteer-driven organization that creates open source digital tools for solving societal challenges. Our mission is to innovate through open data, transparency and civic technology. In the past three years we have been using various Python libraries like scrapy and Beautiful Soup, frameworks like Django and PYBOSSA, and platforms like CKAN and GlobalLeaks, in six of our projects: Incognito, Redirectioneaza, Catalog Politic, Ce Zice Legea, Data Portal, and Seismic Risc.
About Victor: Java developer by day, Code for Romania's Community Manager by night. Even if the latter role is mostly nontechnical, I keep using Python to manage various internal workflows and get data from the Meetup, github and Slack APIs.
🎙️ 20:00 - Python Requests: Pitfalls, Gotchas and Caveats // by Alexandra Stefanescu
When it comes to automating web communication, `import requests` is baked into my muscle memory. And while the library is intuitive in its interface and flexible in its implementation, there are a few gotchas sprinkled here and there. There are parameters I always forget about, method signatures I always misinterpret and headers that only get set after the server refuses every request I make. In this talk, my aim is to walk you though some of these good practices, so that your next experience of writing web requests will go smoothly, and with less foul interjecting at the screen.
About Alexandra: I've been writing code to automate the boring things ever since 2014. Nowadays, I work as a security researcher. I'm a volunteering developer with Code for Romania, and the co-founder of Security Espresso, the Romanian security community.
💡 21:00 - Spot Light Session (lightning talks)
🍻 22:00 - Closing, socializing, having a drink outside
The space there is limited, so please RSVP and update if you can not make it, so that other people can come instead.
After the meetup, we can have some conversations on a beer or two in the old town ;)
