July "Collective Coding" Night

Details
***PLEASE NOTE DATE CORRECTION - IT IS WEDNESDAY NIGHT! ***
Hi everyone - it's time for the July edition of RORO Perth! We're back in the main Town Hall space at Spacecubed so there will be plenty of space to enjoy the evening.
Following on from last month's Lighting Talks, and based on the informal discussion there, we're having an (experimental!) social code "hack night" this month. Mark will be facilitating the event to begin with, but the general idea is for a collective exploration of new and/or interesting tech concepts that you might not know about: a social gathering that isn't a talk or lecture, but also isn't a roomful of individuals separately hacking on their own things. Bring your laptop (unless you just want to watch!), as well as any recent interesting Ruby/Rails/tech news or ideas, and we will see what we can explore together :-)
We want to welcome people of any experience level to our local Perth Ruby/Ruby on Rails Meetup; whether you're a newcomer, experienced developer, or somewhere in between, come along to our monthly get-together. If you're experienced in other languages or frameworks, but curious about Ruby or Rails, come and find out what makes them worthwhile knowing about.
We'll start this meetup at 6pm with community news and announcements, and commence the hack event after that. Pizzas will arrive sometime between 6:30 and 7pm, so please let us know if you have any dietary requests.
Hope you can join us on the night. We encourage you (where possible) to RSVP via Meetup so we can cater for all attending.
Note: the doors to the building automatically lock at 6pm, so if you're running late please SMS 0406 351 336 when you arrive outside - someone will promptly come to let you in! 😃
We're always on the lookout for guest speakers! Our Perth community is smaller than some of the interstate RoRo Meetups, and we need people willing to talk about topics that interest you and maybe all of us! If you're enthusiastic or curious about something you think other local Rubyists would like to know about, please talk to Bruce or Mark (or message us through Meetup). If you would like to give a talk/presentation yourself at a upcoming event - even better! Even if you're not necessarily willing/able to present, you can let us know about topics you'd be interested to know more about, and we'll see what we can arrange.
