The photo is a little deceptive since this **free** event will be held indoors at the beautiful [Bhakti Yoga Movement Studio](https://www.thebymc.com/) in inner SE Portland. It is part of a series of events I produce outside of Meetup that highlight Asian Americans in the Portland, Oregon Metro but all welcome anyone to participate. Come make new friends!

An artist popularized **[Space Out Competitions](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gB1K8-ApTC8&t=7s)** in East Asia in response to burnout. For those who feel like years have passed by in this short month and a half and need an alternative to the usual distractions this might be for you. This one is called Do Nothing Just Vibe to put our spin on it.

There is a cap of thirty for this event and if you would like to join please add yourself to the waitlist **(the attendance cap is set at one for now)**. I will be clearing people on a rolling basis and sending them a form to make it official. You can come to just hang out, help us judge, or **participate for a chance at a number of prizes**.

Prizes include $25 gift cards from local Asian-owned businesses. First place gets to choose up to four gift cards, second up to two gift cards, and third the remaining gift card. Gift Cards are from the following places:

**How does it work?** Participants will come and try to relax as much as possible without falling asleep while judges periodically monitor heart rates.

**To participate you will need a Fitbit/Apple Watch or other heart rate monitoring device. We also recommend bringing something comfortable to sit on.**

**Tentative Schedule**

* 7 pm -8 pm - Prepare the space and allow time to mingle
* 8 pm -9 pm - Competition starts
* 9 pm -10 pm - Time to hang out
* 10 pm - 11 pm - Clean up the space and get out

We might go somewhere else afterward if people want to continue hanging out!
