Bushcrafting
Details
Join Naturalist Ted for an evening of survival education and bushcrafting. We will discuss the wilderness survival basics, risk assessment, and how to craft your own tools in a backcountry setting or at home! We will have a short talk and presentation before a short half-mile hike to collect materials to create your very own bow drill for friction fire making! All materials and tools provided. We will meet in the lower parking lot of Buzzard’s Roost and hike the half mile up to the barn, about half mile for collecting materials, and then the half mile back to the parking lot. In total 1.5 to 2 miles of easy to moderate uphill terrain. Please be sure to wear boots, bring gloves, and dress for inclement weather. See you there!
