Rifts is an amalgamation of post-apocalyptic scenarios: part Terminator, part Horizon Zero Dawn, part Metro, part Battle Angel, etc. After a golden age, Rifts in space and time opened suddenly. An invasion of aliens, demons, and other realities poured in, decimating civilization as we knew it.

Now, centuries later after a dark age, we try to rebuild.

Rifts characters are typically far more powerful than many other settings, and you should expect that.
