D&D 5E (w/old school feel) / The Malevolent Marrow Mines / Otsuka RPG Day

Narrative Premise:

“I was taken by the evil dogs while camping near Agav's bog. They dragged me into their lair, and it wasn't until I escaped that I knew the truth of the place: a great and bony wing buried in the side of a hill. They chained me in the dark with a candle made from foul wax and forced me to dig at the marrow. Their bonds were poorly made, and I fled several days later while they slept. What purpose did they have in mining that marrow? I cannot say…” — Org of the Bog People

Gameplay: A mix of Exploration, Social, and Combat

Genere: Old School Sword & Sorcery (“O5R”)

Tone: Serious, with room for gallow’s humor

Setting: The Seven Winds (original gameworld, think “Ancient World fantasy” instead of Medieval fantasy), previously unexplored region.

Spiritual theme song for this game: Mournlord, Reconquering our Kingdom (1995)

Content: This game features adults, engaging in childish, often violent, sometimes explicit, and always disturbing fantasy, while being adults about it the whole while. You have been warned.

Level of lethality: “Mess around and find out.” No “plot armor” — based on PC actions, what the Monsters/NPCs get up to, and the story that the dice want to tell, PCs may die, but we will have some “backup PCs” waiting in the wings for you to run. The game must go on!

Communication tools: The onus is on you to express yourself. “Even if you have nothing to say, speak, and say so.” — DM Cicero

DM provides: Level-appropriate pregens, which will be distributed randomly.

Connectivity: I prefer to handle our pregame communication (pregens, etc.) via Discord.
