It's the early '90s - every radio is playing grunge, every movie in theaters is about goth vampires, and every dark alley is full of crime and recreational substances. Against that backdrop, you’re a.. er, actually your identity is a little hazy at the moment. But one thing is clear - you and a few other flawed souls are in for a complicated night.

In this one-shot story we'll try out The Real Thing, a narrative RPG about the dark paranoia of the early 90s, and loosely inspired by the music of Faith No More. The rules are essentially PBTA - light on mechanics, nothing to learn, and you can expect to play an active role in the storytelling.

Zero preparation! Please bring a general idea of what sort of character you’ll play, and maybe a pencil. If you’d like to prepare beyond that, you could watch The Crow or read something by Anne Rice.

Content: this RPG is made for dark themes - flawed people in a world of drug use, violence, and trauma. That said, I keep my games inclusive and we'll use standard ways of avoiding content players aren’t comfortable with.
