The landscape was full of machines and scrap metal connected to the facility in one way or another. Always present on the horizon were the colossal cooling towers of the Bona Reactor, with their green obstruction lights. If you put your ear to the ground, you could hear the heartbeat of the Loop - the purring of the Gravitron, the central piece of engineering magic that was the focus of the Loop’s experiments.
Tales from Loop is inspired by the artwork of Simon Stalenhag whose paintings of Swedish suburbia juxtaposed with fantastic machines and strange beasts have won global acclaim.
This is the 1980s of Michael Jackson and Madonna, the Commodore 64, the Goonies and Wargames but it’s also the 1980s that never was, of sentient robots, time travel and dinosaurs brought back to life.
In this game players play as a group of teenage friends who discover something Going On at the Loop and decide to investigate themselves. This is a rules-lite, roleplay-heavy investigation RPG. Player will need a bunch of d6s, a pencil and eraser. As we’ll have a bit more time compared to Otsuka, we’ll do character creation together before we begin.
Horror Movie Mayhem
The 80’s was the decade of ‘moral panic’. It started with movie violence, the fear that children would watch movies and normalise the violent messages. It soon spread to music and role playing games and now it has come to the Swedish town of Stenhamra.
Your school PTA is planning to demonstrate outside your local video store. Ellen, who works in the store is in hiding and, whilst the store is closed it remains a hive of activity for the school PTA. What exactly is going on there? Why is Ellen so scared?
