It's exciting that we can partner with another local group on a cross-cutting topic to our mutual memberships.

Overview

One of the greater challenges in Agile at Scale, is how to handle cross-cutting architecture and design concerns. Nowhere is this more of a challenge than in the U/X space. Many organizations struggle with how to allow for up-front UX Design and still "Be Agile" in their iterative delivery of software.

And the reality is that there are no one size fits all solutions to these challenges. Given this, we thought a panel discussion with some leading & local UX experts would be very beneficial. These will be folks who have in the trenches experience in how to bring UX into agile delivery methods. No academic advice here and no silver bullets. Just folks sharing their real-world experience around what works and what doesn't.

The Panel

Michelle Engle: Michelle is currently Vice President of Product Management at MaxPoint Interactive. Prior to MaxPoint, Michelle was responsible for Product Management and User Experience at iContact, successfully leading the transition to multichannel marketing at iContact. Prior to that, she took ChannelAdvisor global by establishing a presence in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Germany. Michelle holds a BA in economics and international relations from Bucknell University and an MA in economics from New York University. Jean-Paul Haire: Jean-Paul is current Vice President & Director of User Experience At Deutsche Bank's Cary Development Center. More info to come.... Mona Singh: Mona is a well respected and experienced independent UX Consultant. She has experience with large-scale agile UX, including Teradata and other local companies. More info to come... Adrian Pomilio: Adrian has been developing applications since 1997, Adrian has focused his efforts around front-end development as well as user experience. Working in a complex, multi-team, industry Adrian has been able to meld user experience and agile techniques in an efficient manner. From prototypes to personas, scrum-mastering to design, he believes that UX and Agile do work together. Most of Adrian's work centers around transportation and logistics, specifically the North American Railroad industry. Current Employer: Railinc, Cary NC.
