The Natty Beaux unites some of the area’s most talented and respected musicians, most of whom are multiple Washington Area Music Association (WAMMIE) Award winners. We invite you to *Parlor Varieté: A Burlesque Salon*, an evening that examines burlesque as an important American art form with a long, complicated, and interesting history – and provides ample demonstration of it! Performer and burlesque historian Bebe Bardeaux, ranked #19 on the Burlesque Top 50 in 2024, will deliver a brief lecture on the history and culture of burlesque from its beginnings in the 19th century up to today. A full show will follow, featuring some of the most engaging burlesque and variety performers in the DC area. Our moderate-to-strenuous 8.5-mile circuit with 1370 ft. in elevation gain includes some spectacular views and attractions. Some of the sights we’ll enjoy along the way include Cunningham Falls (highest in Maryland), Hog Rock overlook, Blue Ridge vista, Thurmont vista, the Wolf Rock formation, and the Chimney Rock overlook. Meet at the Grovesnor-Strathmore Metro station by 1:30 p.m. and please answer the Meetup questions so we can organize carpools.
