About us
Adventurers looking for trail buddies, unite! Trail Buddies was founded in 2018 and is a community of outdoor enthusiasts looking to enjoy the trails with other like-minded individuals. Our events appeal to thru-hikers, day-hikers and cyclists and we’re always eager to meet new folks, learn of new adventures and hear those campfire stories. If you’re searching for a fun and active outdoor group, look no further.
Adventure, fun, passion, motivation, perseverance, and community is what we’re all about. We believe the outdoors is therapeutic for the mind, body and soul, and everyone should have an opportunity to benefit from it, so we host a variety of events from beginner to advanced that range from just a few hours to multiple nights in an effort to offer something for everyone. Some of our trips will be family and pet friendly while others will be geared towards pushing our limits for grander, future adventures like the AT, CDT, PCT, and NCT.
With multiple organizers, we’re posting more events than ever, and continuing to increase our time outside. As we set our sights on this year and beyond, we’re excited about all the new adventures out there waiting for us.
Check out our new campsite, and review our membership agreement and camp rules.

Laurel Highlands Trail 3-Day Backpacking Trip

Difficulty: Intermediate
Distance: 27 Miles
Map: linkSummary:
Please join us for a three-day backpacking trip through the Laurel Highlands. We will be hiking roughly 27 miles from the RT 271 trailhead to the RT 31 parking lot. On the first night, we will stay in the RT 30 shelters, and on the second night, we will stay in the Turnpike shelters. Reservations are required for shelters. This is a through-hike, so we will start and end at different locations. I plan to park my car at the end and take a shuttle to the starting point. There is room in the shuttle for several people. The section of trail we are hiking is considered “intermediate difficulty” as it is well-maintained and has only moderate elevation changes. If three days is too much, feel free to join us or leave us at any of the stopping points.
