Details

Oracle has kindly offered to host this event.

Chris Seaton from Oracle Labs will be there to give a talk about TruffleRuby.

# Chris Seaton: Introduction to TruffleRuby

TruffleRuby is a new implementation of Ruby from Oracle Labs. It's designed to run real Ruby code faster than other implementations of Ruby, and to give you powerful new tools for managing and debugging your Ruby application.

We'll show you why we're building TruffleRuby, a little bit about how it works, and what it achieves for Ruby users today.

# Petrus Repo: Extending the Kubernetes API with K8s::Client

Kubernetes is a powerful platform for serving containerized applications. Many DevOps chores in 2019 are about writing repetitive YAML resource declarations. Developers need to be enabled for Ops, but DevOps should not feel like a burden. Creating a Custom Resource Definition (CRD) to group together common patterns is one solution to the YAML bloat.

We'll dive into extending the Kubernetes API with a Custom Resource Definition and build a Kubernetes Custom Controller using the K8s::Client gem.

Petrus Repo is the co-founder of RDX.net. The RDX.net Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) is targeted for service providers and can utilise any cloud provider or on-premises infrastructure.
