Real Politik - Vote Better With Ruby!

Details

This month we're back on the campaign trail in Dublin 6 at Zendesk's offices with keen political analysis, namely...

Vote Better With Ruby by John Costello (https://twitter.com/CostelloSan) - In this talk, John presents a web application he co-founded, whichcandidate.ie (http://whichcandidate.ie/), for finding political candidates that share your views. During the 2016 general election, whichcandidate.ie had about 100k throughput of voters during the campaign. The app won best web app at the Realex Payments Web Awards. John will discuss the post election analysis of the data, including how a representative sample was extracted from the dataset. He will also outline the findings, which show where political parties align with the views of their own voters on four broad ideological dimensions (economic, cultural, religious and austerity). Have your ballots ready!

Le Wagon by Anne-Sophie Chambon (https://twitter.com/Ann3Sophie) - Le Wagon (https://www.lewagon.com/) is a coding bootcamp for entrepreneurs hailing from, you guessed it, France! Anne-Sophie will reveal to us how she fell in love with Ruby when attending a recent Le Wagon in Paris and asks the question as to whether it's something that Dublin could handle. Vive la Rúby-lution!
