Crunch That Data... With Ruby! (July 14th)

Details

The weather's warming up and it's time to warm up your CPUs as we take on the challenge of churning through an evening of data analysis with Ruby. Better know for its place in the web stack than the compute farm, join us as we enter the matrix with Ruby and Daru! Our event will kindly be sponsored by Clio (https://www.clio.com) who will be paying whatever phone bill we rack up on the Zoom call together. Here's the plan...

### A Gem for Your Data - Data Analysis Intro in Ruby with Bojan Bozic (@bojan_bozic)

In this talk, Bojan will introduce Daru (Data Analysis in RUby) as a library for storage, analysis, manipulation and visualisation of data in Ruby. After a short overview of Daru, Bojan will dive into its use cases and showcase its functionality in code, including (but not limited to) data frames, manipulation of data, plotting and basic machine learning. Let Ruby crunch the numbers... so you don't have to!

### Breakout Rooms

Given Ruby Irelanders haven't been able to socialise together in a while - or even share a pizza! - we'd like to take this opportunity to have some chats. So, we'll have breakout rooms at the end of the evening.

We are very grateful to Clio for sponsoring this meetup.

Note: Laptops open at 6:30pm. Talks start shortly afterwards.

Details to join online will be posted nearer the date. Stay tuned.

Minimum age limit to attend is 18 years.
