Ruby Everywhere! One Codebase To Rule All Platforms?

Details
With the sluggish start to our meetup schedule for 2023, who do we turn to in order to whip Ruby Ireland into shape? Well, when it comes to top athlete performance it can only mean Kitman Labs! We're delighted to have Kitman host and sponsor what promises to be an evening of great talks. We'll see how to leverage Rails to target mobile with the minimum of fuss as well as peeking behind the scenes of gnarly gem code...
### "Conquering iOS, Android & Web With Hotwire" by William Kennedy
In this talk, William will give a hands-on overview of how he used Rails to build an "everywhere" solution. He'll showcase how he minimised the complexity of targeting so many platforms and will cover the following...
- Standard CRUD rails setup
- Native flows
- Transitioning to Native Screens
- Javascript Bridge
- Reference repos and code to take home with you!
### "Know Your Client! Inside The AWS Ruby SDK..." by Chris McGrath
Sometimes you can just use a library out-of-the-box and it works perfectly. If only the life of a Ruby developer always ran so smoothly. Alas, on occasion you need to crack that gem open and debug performance issues, unexpected behaviour and unanswered questions. In this short talk, Chris will delve into the internals of the AWS Ruby Client and reveal what he found.
We are very grateful to Kitman for hosting and sponsoring this meetup, including food and beverages.
Note: Doors at Kitman Labs open at 6:00pm, pizza at 6:20pm and talks start at 7pm. Also, given it will be our first meetup in a while, there will be plenty of time after the talks to stay around and socialise with your fellow Rubyists until about 10pm - if you don't need to run for the early train or bus!
Minimum age limit to attend is 18 years.
